New Missing People Initiative

Today I received an email from a connection  through a no longer existing social networking site iYomu.

You are receiving this one email because of your connections with the iYomu
site which you once joined. I promise that you will receive no more contact
from us after this email. I am now seeking your help.

I was asked last year by my mum to help find her son and my eldest brother
Paul Rooney who we have not seen since 1999. My mum is 78 now and not in
great health.

I looked at all ways of finding him and I recognized that the way we look
for missing people is expensive and lacks any proper use of technology. I
think that most people who have had someone go missing are completely
isolated and without much hope. I decided to do something about it.

It seems pretty basic, but I realized that the only way to find Paul and
others like him who have gone missing was to create a really unique and
simple website that could get the global internet community involved. The
website that we have built is called www.findpeoplemissing.com.
We have launched this website today.

There will be no fanfare, no big party and no big marketing drive with this
website. There will be just a few emails that I hope get passed on from one
person to another. I believe that a great website will always sell itself.
In the end we will leave it up to those from the internet and missing
community to see what they think about what we have built.

Paul's photo is the first on the website, but I believe that he will be soon
joined by many others as there are over 2 million registered missing people
out there.

I hope that you do have a look at the website and as it is free join up to
Help Find Missing Persons - please pass the web link onto anyone who you
think it could be really relevant to.

Thanks

David

I think this is a beautiful initiative an I suggest that you go have a look.

For those that are in search of someone that has gone missing: you can register such a person as missing there. And those that are missing and do not want to be found: you can register yourself there as such as well. On top of all that, for those that are in for a reward: check out the first two persons listed there and perhaps you end up with the reward.

Go have a look for yourself at http://www.findpeoplemissing.com.

David, All the success with this site!
